RE:Lab has hosted the last meeting of the Cultural and Creative Industries Clust-ER, within Tecnopolo in Reggio Emilia, the 7th of September.
RE:Lab is a partner of Clust-ER, which is an association of public and private bodies. Companies, research centres, and training institutions share skills, ideas, and resources to support the competitiveness of the sector.
The Emilia-Romagna Region has found in the ClustERs the subjects capable of multiplying innovation opportunities through a collaborative approach, as they focus their activity in R&D strategic sectors.

.WELLS by RE:Lab + Mipel – The exhibition at a glance

“The fishes came staring and gaping towards me, and into me and through me. I never imagined such fishes before.…

“The fishes came staring and gaping towards me, and into me and through me. I never imagined such fishes before. They had lines of fire along the sides of them as though they had been outlined with a luminous pencil.”

In H.G. Wells’ story “The remarkable case of Davidson’s eyes” the protagonist temporarily loses his sight due to an accident but acquires the ability to see events occurring in places far from him.

The .WELLS project comes from this literary solicitation. It aims to enable visitors from other parts of the world to take part in an event with the eyes of those who are there.

By using an application, the virtual visitor sends to the operator on site indications on how he would like to visit the event. The operator wears a camera and a headset and transmits what he sees and hears to the user from a distance.

The possibilities of personalizing the “remote” visit are many: from the choice of language to the paths, from the approach to the booth to the contact with the salesman, from the appointment with a person in charge to the creation of a photographic book of the event.

.WELLS is a project born from the collaboration between RE:Lab, a company operating in the field of interaction between technologies and users (www.re-lab.it) and MIPEL, an event dedicated to leather goods and fashion accessories that welcomes 10,000 visitors per year.

The service will be provided by RE:Lab starting from the MIPEL fair in February 2019.

From January 2019 more information and the possibility to book it will be available.
