AUTOMATE

Automation as accepted and trustful TeamMATE to enhance traffic safety and efficiency

Project description

The project is based on the “TeamMATE car” concept: driver and automation are seen as members of one team and they share the driving task – perception, decision-making, and vehicle control. Through this concept, AutoMate intends to create a highly reliable automation system that users can come to understand, accept and use regularly.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme.

Our role

  • Development of an innovative interaction strategy to put the driver back at the core of the experience, implementing the concept of driver-automation cooperation
  • Development of the HMI prototype for the 6 TeamMate car demonstrators (3 vehicles and 3 simulators)
  • Testing and implementation of one of the demonstrators, in Cooperation with FIAT Research Center
  • Coordinator of the communication and dissemination activities of the project
