Interreg European Central Europe Project

Project description

On 1st April 2019 RE:Lab took part in a new challenge as Partner of 4STEPS project, an Interreg European Central Europe Project.

The project is addressing the main challenge of Industry 4.0 as a tool towards a new, digital industrial revolution holding the promise of increased flexibility in manufacturing, mass customization, increased speed, better quality and improved productivity. Companies in the target regions are lagging behind in the adoption of innovative tools and solutions proposed by Industry 4.0 revolution and need to increase transnational cooperation in facing this challenge.

The main project objectives are:

  • support the successful implementation of smart specialization strategies
  • apply Industry 4.0 to all the industrial sectors identified by each Region.

4STEPS will apply an innovative methodology based on:

  • the involvement of all quadruple helix actors in a bottom-up approach
  • SMEs as the main target involved
  • new network of “Digital Innovation Hubs”.

The project will develop innovative productive methods and applications of Industry 4.0 thanks to the developments of:

  • a new catalogue of potential services to be offered
  • a “Technology Maturity Level Index”
  • a transnational action plan
  • “Digital Innovation Hubs” that will be tested in pilot actions

4STEPS project is funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme that encourages the cooperation on shared challenges in central Europe.

The project has a three years duration, involving 8 project Partners from 7 different EU Countries
