RE:LAB is a design and innovation company specialized in shaping the interaction between people and complex technologies.
Since 2004, we have been working on products and systems used daily across the automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors. Our goal is to make advanced technology understandable, safe, and natural to use.
We don’t just design interfaces. We design experiences that bring together design, engineering, human factors, and artificial intelligence. Our multidisciplinary team tackles real-world challenges in highly complex contexts, where quality and reliability are essential.
We partner with global companies when user experience is not a detail, but a critical factor for a product’s success—when adoption, safety, and user trust truly make the difference.
At RE:LAB, we believe technology should feel human. This belief guides the way we work, the design decisions we make, and the relationships we build every day.
Designing human experiences for complex technologies.
Automotive UI Designer (2–3 yrs experience)
We’re looking for someone who doesn’t just design screens, but thinks about what happens when that screen sits in front of a driver at 130 km/h.
If you’ve worked on automotive HMIs — clusters, head units, ADAS visualizations, EV interfaces, mobility apps — and have a portfolio to show, we should talk.
This is hands-on UI design for real vehicles. Embedded systems. Performance constraints. Safety context. Sunlight, night driving, cognitive load. Designing for motion, not static layouts.
You should have 2–3 years of UI experience and feel solid using Figma (components, variants, auto layout, prototyping) and Photoshop when needed. Familiarity with UI animation and motion principles is important — transitions, micro-interactions, state changes — especially in driving-related contexts.
You understand hierarchy, typography, icon systems, and how to keep interfaces readable and structured under pressure. You’re comfortable discussing feasibility with developers and adapting your design to technical constraints.
We absolutely appreciate strong visual culture but we’re particularly interested in seeing how your thinking translates into automotive or embedded contexts.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about vehicles and mobility challenges. Someone curious about how interfaces support driving tasks, reduce ambiguity, and make complex systems feel intuitive.
On-site presence is required, so being within reach (or willing to relocate) matters.
Send your CV and portfolio.
Then let’s have a real conversation about designing for vehicles.
On-site collaboration
Schedule: Full- time, 40 hours per week.
Location: Reggio Emilia, on site.
Our Promise
We build technology for people—and that same principle guides how we work together. At RE:LAB, you’ll find more than a role: a place where ideas are valued, growth is supported, and individual perspectives contribute to meaningful innovation.
