Designing human experiences for complex technologies.

Position

RE:LAB is looking for an intern to support the study and assessment of physical interactions between people, products, and systems, with particular attention to posture, movement, and responses to stimuli.

The intern will work alongside the team on research and experimental activities aimed at improving comfort, safety, and ease of use in automotive and industrial settings.

Main Activities

• Support the analysis of postures, movements, and interactions with controls and workstations.
• Contribute to the preparation and execution of experimental studies involving users.
• Help collect and analyse data on reaction times, motor responses, and performance during interaction.
• Conduct literature reviews and contribute to documenting findings.
• Work alongside designers and engineers to identify potential ergonomic improvements.

Requirements

• Master Degree in Ergonomics, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or related disciplines.
• Academic knowledge of reflexes, motor control, and reaction times, gained through coursework, university projects, laboratory work, or thesis research.
• Interest in physical ergonomics and applied research into human–technology interaction.
• Good observation, analytical, and data organisation skills.
• Curiosity, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.

Knowledge of biomechanics, anthropometry, or experimental methods involving users is welcome. No previous professional experience is required.

This internship offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to practical projects and develop skills in ergonomic assessment and experimental research within a multidisciplinary team.

• Work location: On-site, Turin
• Internship allowance: the internship includes a monthly reimbursement, in accordance with the applicable regional regulations.
